The recognition of the Ministry of Economic Development rewards the historic Distilleria Piemontese, bearer of widespread values since 1846.

The Mazzetti d’Altavilla brand, a historic Piedmontese distillery founded in 1846, is well known on national and international markets as a symbol of quality and attachment to the territory, values that are the basis of the sustainability objectives pursued at European level today. But the same brand now officially becomes a “Historical Trademark of National Interest”.

The Ministry of Economic Development itself confirms the inclusion in the restricted list of trademarks active for at least fifty years. The recognition concerns the brands used for the longest time for the marketing of products or services made in a national production company of excellence historically linked to the national territory, which can obtain registration in the register of historical brands of national interest, established at the ‘Italian Patent and Trademark Office.

The Mazzetti d’Altavilla brand is among the most “dated” in the world of Italian distillation, and appears on a historical collection of documents kept in the company’s archives: shipping bills, invoices, labels, advertising signs, exhibition stands and many others testimonials as well as, more recently, presence on web channels and digital documents relating to the company’s activity. “Our archives constitute a precious heritage that not only passes on our brand but also the culture and production traditions developed internally – says Cesare Mazzetti, president of the company – and pays tribute to past generations that have allowed us to become what we are” . A path of continuous evolution for grappa and other Mazzetti spirits, therefore, which rewards the consistency and efforts of the sixth and seventh generation of this family of distillers since 1846, and of all the staff and aficionados of the Mazzetti world, sealing a year really full of emotions for the grapperia which has always operated in the Unesco hills of Monferrato.

The recognition of “Historic Brand” comes in fact at the height of a very intense Christmas campaign, one of the most gratifying ever for the company thanks to the very positive feedback obtained from the market, after a 2020 marked by the problems induced by the Covid emergency. “This news represents a worthy toast for Mazzetti d’Altavilla’s 175 years of uninterrupted activity, the special birthday we celebrated in 2021 – says Silvia Belvedere Mazzetti, a young commercial guide of the company for some years -. Goals? Not exactly: each result is interpreted as a spur towards the search for new objectives and we are already working to formalize new strategies that will lead the “made in Monferrato” spirits to conquer new markets in 2022. “
