COCKTAIL AVIATION: A MYTH OF FRESHNESS.
ITS RECIPE MAKES IT A MYTH AS FRESH AS AIR
Mazzetti d’Altavilla’s Gin makes this myth of a cocktail even fresher, making it unique in terms of its charm and flavour, elegant, decidedly Mediterranean and floral. Made with gin and maraschino, it is so fresh that it can be enjoyed before, during and after dinner.
PREPARATION: Squeeze the juice of a lemon and strain it. Chill a small cup with 3 ice cubes, put 4 more ice cubes in the shaker, pour in Mazzetti gin, lemon juice, maraschino, crème de violette and shake for 30 seconds. Remove the ice from the glass and pour the cocktail, straining with the strainer. HERE ARE THE OFFICIAL DOSES: 4.5 cl of gin + 1.5 of maraschino + 1.5 of fresh lemon juice + 1.5 of Crème de Violette, if you can find it.
COCKTAIL AVIATION: A RITE OF PASSAGE.
ITS HISTORY STILL MAKES IT TRAVEL ON THE WINGS OF RITUAL
Once upon a time, over 100 years ago, there was a creative barman and a circle of British Air Force officers. One day, the barman, in bidding farewell to the British pilots departing on a mission, invented the cocktail he would offer them on their return. Since then Aviation has become the cocktail of good return, the commemorative cocktail with which, as in a kind of ritual, the pilots toast their return.
