ON SUNDAY 20 OCTOBER THE MAZZETTI MAZZETTI D’ALTAVILLA WILL BE DELICIOUS WITH CHOCOLATE
As part of “Chocolate in Monferrato”, promoted through the streets of Altavilla Monferrato, there will also be many events at the most historic distillery in the North-West
Grappa and chocolate are one of the most popular combinations among spirits enthusiasts. On Sunday, October 20th, there will be plenty of opportunities to discover the nuances of this sensory encounter and numerous other curiosities related to spirits and the Piedmont region, thanks to the events that Mazzetti d’Altavilla – Distillatori dal 1846 is offering at its historic headquarters atop the hill in Altavilla Monferrato. The events are scheduled to coincide with " Chocolate in Monferrato ," an event taking place in the center of the Altavilla village, bringing exhibitions and initiatives dedicated specifically to this king of delicacies. The headquarters Mazzetti d’Altavilla will be open from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm for free guided tours at regular intervals (no reservations required for this occasion) to access the production facilities during peak distillation periods, and for equally free guided Grappa Storeof tastings spirits, liqueurs, and bitters in the scenic . The café will offer delicious breakfasts and tasty breaks, and the public will also be able to access the Votive Chapel La Rotonda and the exhibitions at Mazzetti d’Altavilla , particularly the recently inaugurated exhibition dedicated to " Monferrato in the Spirit ," featuring evocative photographs that immortalize the area's attractive and tourist-friendly corners and landscapes. Following the success of "risalite" (returns) during its initial opening on October 6th, the " Panoramic Tower " of Mazzetti d’Altavilla: the structure (which offers 360° views of the landscape between the Casale, Asti, and Alessandria hills, stretching as far as the Alps and the Apennines) will be accessible by reservation (tel. 0142 926147 or will also be open to visitors again eventi@mazzetti.it ) through a guided tour that will allow visitors to discover curiosities related to the history and landscape. At the top of the Tower, tour participants will be able to enjoy an exclusive tasting of Grappa di Ruchè Invecchiata “7.0” with extra-dark chocolate .
But the day also includes two special tasting initiatives of spirits and chocolate: at 11 am and 4 pm the public will be able to participate in free pairings of spirits and extra-dark chocolate bars for tasting by Baratti & Milano , guided by the Master Distiller: unique opportunities to appreciate the quality of an important chocolate-making tradition and its encounter with spirits. Finally, starting at 10:45 and 11:45 , the two sessions of “ In Vino Veritas…in Grappa figuriamocis! ” will be held , a guided poetic experience with grappa and chocolate tasting . It is a journey of words and taste, which will stimulate the senses and lead intrepid travelers to discover the memories of Cesare Pavese, the illustrious Piedmontese writer, using Tina Festa's Caviardage® Method, a poetic writing that helps compose poems and thoughts through a well-defined process and a large number of techniques and strategies, starting not from a blank page but from pre-written texts: pages torn from waste books, newspaper articles and magazines. Additionally, a shuttle service will be available throughout the day, providing round-trip transportation between the village of Altavilla Monferrato and the nearby town of Moncalvo, where the 65th Truffle Fair will take place on Sunday, October 20th. Visitors will be able to conveniently travel (approximately 15 minutes per transfer) between the two events, allowing them to experience a day dedicated to the flavors of autumn in Monferrato.
