Filippo 's intuition

In the heart of Monferrato

Filippo Mazzetti was among the first in Piedmont to believe that something great could be obtained from pomace—the skins and seeds left after winemaking. In 1846, he lit his still in the heart of Monferrato.

His son Luigi then brought the distillery to the Altavilla hill, inside an ancient monastery: the house where we still work today.

The entrepreneurial spirit

Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit, Franco built the modern company without ever losing the artisan gesture.

With great intuition, he expanded the range to the world of liqueurs and brought the Mazzetti brand worldwide.

It all starts with a thought: waste nothing.

From the grape marc that others would throw away, something precious is born.

1846: fifteen years to go until the unification of Italy, and the first still is turned on in Monferrato.

A hill, an eighteenth-century monastery, a still that is always on.

Filippo traveled around Piedmont in search of the best pomace: Monferrato, Canavese, Langhe, Roero.

The hands change, the gesture remains.

Copper steam stills, discontinuous method: it is still distilled like this.

Each era has added something: a recipe, a label, a distant market.

Grappa meets liqueurs. Monferrato meets the world.

Chiara, Silvia and Elisa grew up here, amid the scent of grape marc and the silence of the barrel cellar. Today, they represent the new generation at the helm of the company, alongside the experience of the sixth generation.

But a family story never stops: the seventh generation grows, expands, and brings with it new energy, skills, and perspectives, continuing to write, step by step, the next pages of this story.
