Since 1846, in Monferrato
Being a family is a wonderful undertaking.
At the top of the Altavilla Monferrato hill, inside an ancient monastery, the same story has lived on for seven generations: a family that distills.
Everything comes from the Earth. Even the most beautiful of stories.
Ours begins with what others would throw away: the pomace, the last part of the grape bunch. Waste nothing. Transform what remains into something precious.
It's the idea that has guided us since 1846.
Drop by drop, generation after generation.
1846
Filippo 's intuition

In the heart of Monferrato
Filippo Mazzetti was among the first in Piedmont to believe that something great could be obtained from pomace—the skins and seeds left after winemaking. In 1846, he lit his still in the heart of Monferrato.
His son Luigi then brought the distillery to the Altavilla hill, inside an ancient monastery: the house where we still work today.
The entrepreneurial spirit
Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit, Franco built the modern company without ever losing the artisan gesture.
With great intuition, he expanded the range to the world of liqueurs and brought the Mazzetti brand worldwide.

Since 1846 — Family Archive
Seven generations.
A single story, told in fragments: the words and images from our archive.

The seventh generation
Today this story speaks to women.

Chiara, Silvia and Elisa grew up here, amid the scent of grape marc and the silence of the barrel cellar. Today, they represent the new generation at the helm of the company, alongside the experience of the sixth generation.
But a family story never stops: the seventh generation grows, expands, and brings with it new energy, skills, and perspectives, continuing to write, step by step, the next pages of this story.
For seven generations we have been distilling emotions: it's not a slogan, it's the only way we know how to do this job.

Mazzetti d’Altavilla is a Historic Brand of National Interest
An award that honors companies that represent Made in Italy. When it arrived, the family simply said, "Now we have to continue earning it.".
For us it means a short supply chain, energy from natural sources, respect for the land from which everything comes — and the freedom to continue inventing, as Filippodid.

The story continues every day, between the stills and in the barrel cellar.
A home, before a company
The monastery, the park with the votive chapel, the barrel cellar dug into the hillside, the tower overlooking the Alps: the Casa della Grappa isn't just a headquarters, it's a living place. And it's open: anyone who wants to learn about our history can come and explore it.
