A delicious weekend at Mazzetti d’Altavilla: among the new features of the 2025 edition are also sensory tastings of typical products paired with Piedmontese gin and grappa
Spirits are also taking center stage at the 2025 edition of Golosaria among the Castles of Monferrato , which will take place on Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th , bringing numerous events to the villages between the Alessandria and Asti provinces. Among the delicious stops is Mazzetti d’Altavilla , which, at the top of Altavilla Monferrato, opens the doors of its "Casa della Grappa," located in an ancient monastery, also offering new sensory experiences. Starting with the "Gin Tasting,signature gins Mazzetti d’Altavilla through three new and surprising guided sensory tastings paired with savory creations by the Chef of the Materia Prima, recently awarded the "Ospitalità Italiana" certification. The "Vertical Grappe" is a new tasting format designed to discover (at 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday) the charm of Italy's quintessential spirit through three guided tastings paired with iconic Piedmontese specialties. These special tastings can be combined with guided tours to discover the production process, from materia prima to the finished product, admiring stills, fine barrels used for aging, and bottles from different eras. The Grappa Store offers tastings and purchases of grappa, brandy, whisky, liqueurs, gin, amari, and bitters, as well as access to the Cafeteria . The Restaurant Materia Prima will be open for spring menu 's opening hours Casa della Grappa (9:30 am - 1 pm and 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm), the Historical Park and the historic Votive Chapel "La Rotonda" dating back to 1808, will be open for free.
Furthermore, on Sunday, May 18th, there will be the opportunity to taste Italian cigars in collaboration with the ADT Club.
