Last year, thousands of visitors took advantage of Golosaria to immerse themselves in the beauty and goodness of Piedmont's spring. This year, the challenge is repeated, with spirits front and center, representing the traditional yet innovative face of a land rich in attractions: the UNESCO-listed hills of Monferrato. Two days of events will take place throughout the region: Saturday, March 30th and Sunday, March 31st.
A weekend to savor through tastings and culinary events, and to experience through visits and events scattered throughout the area between Alessandria, Casale Monferrato, and Asti, just an hour from Milan, Turin, and Genoa.
Mazzetti d’Altavilla is preparing to open the doors of its historic headquarters atop the Altavilla Monferrato hill on both days with a program of events ranging from fine cuisine, tastings, tours, and even art and relaxation.
On both days, visitors will be able to enjoy free and informed tastings of spirits, liqueurs, fruit in liqueur as well as test Vitè beauty creams with Grappa essence at the charming Grappa Store (from 10am to 12.30pm and from 3pm to 6.30pm).
On both days, Golosaria in Distilleria offers the opportunity to enjoy delicious breakfasts in the Mazzetti d’Altavilla Cafeteria , visit the Votive Chapel La Rotonda dating back to 1808 for free, relax in the Historic Park , admire the photographs of the “ Piedmont in the Spirit ” Collection , or admire the selection of original drinks created last year by creative mixologists.
On both days, free Guided Tours will be available, meeting and departing at 11am, 3.30pm and 5pm (also at 6.30pm on Saturday 30th March) to discover the fascinating distillation process, breathe in the scents of the fine wood essences in which the spirits become “meditation drinks” and discover curiosities and antique bottles of the Italian spirit in the most historic grappa shop in the North-West.
Finally, the Restaurant Materia Prima, recently selected for the episode of 4 Ristoranti hosted by Alessandro Borghese and dedicated to Monferrato, will offer a tasting menu by reservation entitled “A Tavola con Golosaria” (Saturday 30th March at 1pm and 8pm and Sunday 31st March at 1pm) with the (optional) possibility of also discovering new combinations between seasonal Monferrato cuisine and distillation.
