On May 30th and 31st in Monferrato, Mazzetti d’AltavillaMazzetti in the heart of Monferrato to discover and taste Italian spirits.
In Monferrato, the art of distillation will also be the focus of the Cantine Aperte weekend , an event promoted annually during the last weekend of May by the Movimento Turismo del Vino (Wine Tourism Movement ), which highlights experiential tourism related to the world of wines and spirits. Speaking of "made in Italy" spirits, Mazzetti d’Altavilla, a historic grappa house located in an ancient monastery at the top of Altavilla Monferrato, will also be opening its doors in Piedmont. The winery is offering a new weekend of tours and tastings as part of the events scheduled to mark the 180th anniversary of its founding. The " Casa della Grappa " will be open on Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, offering the opportunity to taste spirits such as grappa, liqueurs, brandy, whisky, amari, gin, bitters, Vermouth di Torino, and fruit liqueurs . For those wishing to delve deeper into the production processes, raw materials, and aging process in the evocative Mazzetti family barrel cellar, there are two options, both accompanied by guided tastings: full tours of the winery (lasting approximately one hour) and visits to the barrel cellar (approximately 15 minutes), with the latter offered free of charge subject to availability. Guests will also be able to freely admire the Historic Park and the Votive Chapel La Rotonda (1808) , and a cafeteria service will be available .
For gourmets of local and seasonal cuisine, you can try the specialties of the Restaurant Materia Prima during dinner on Friday, May 29th.
