On Sunday, October 6th, the historic Mazzetti d’Altavilla headquarters will host an open house , welcoming the Mazzetti family's 178th consecutive distilling season. At Viale Unità d'Italia 2, during the annual early autumn event " Piemonte Grappa – At the Court of the Still, " promoted by the Consorzio Tutela Grappa del Piemonte e Grappa di Barolo , guided tours will be available to discover the art of distillation, including the opportunity to witness the stills being worked on firsthand. For a more complete understanding of Grappa, visitors will be able to visit the marc area, where the freshest local batches of are vacuum-packed materia prima. There will also be stops in the scenic Barricaia, where visitors can learn more about the use of fine wood species, which contribute their aromas and flavors to expert aging, and in the Galleria della Grappa , where they can be fascinated by the evolution of spirits' packaging over time. Throughout the day, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, you can enjoy tastings of grappa, brandy, gin, amari, liqueurs, and bitters , and discover some of the new products that 2024 has brought to the "Casa della Grappa," such as the new Mazzetti Gin Mazzetti "Black Edition" , a London Dry that was launched just last summer. Special attention will also be given to the many spirits that were deemed worthy of medals at the main national and international competitions of 2024, attesting to the excellence of Mazzetti d’Altavilla. The day will also offer the opportunity to discover the venue's corners, such as the " Votive ChapelLa Rotonda " , an architectural jewel dating back to 1808, the welcoming Cafeteria , and take advantage of the ADT Club corner in the Historic Park for an Italian cigar tasting , possibly paired with grappas made by Mazzetti d’Altavilla.
But there will also be something new for all visitors: during the day, they can enjoy theAperitivo/Merenda in Collina, a program curated by the Restaurant Materia Prima . In addition to the new autumn menu served in the panoramic rooms on the first floor, the program offers the public the opportunity to enjoy a selection of drinks created with locally sourced spirits and accompanied by local specialties from the chef's finger food and appetizer platter. The program will be available from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The programs will continue even in case of inclement weather. The October 6th event is the first in a long series of events planned for October at the Mazzetti d’Altavilla: on Sunday the 20th, the Casa Della Grappa will welcome guests to the popular "Chocolate in Monferrato" event, which will once again take place in the charming village of Altavilla Monferrato, while from the 24th to the 26th the company will participate in the "Open Factories" program, promoted by the Piedmont Region. Finally, on Thursday, October 31st, a special Halloween menu will await guests Restaurant Materia Prima.
