After a long exhibition tour throughout Italy, showcasing many of his works acquired by public and private institutions, artist Paolo Viola arrives at the Grappa & Cioccolato Store in Marcallo with a new exhibition of paintings that will be featured in the "Made in Piedmont" spirits section. Monferrato is certainly the link between the protagonist of the exhibition, titled "Vineyards,"—who is originally from Naples but has long lived and worked in Asti—and the event's setting, dominated by spirits and chocolate from the UNESCO-listed hills of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato. The artist, strongly drawn to the figurative arts from a young age, frequented the studio of Salerno-born painter Nicola Tota, learning the fundamentals of painting technique and mastering the expressive use of color. His first exhibition, held in Salerno in 1976, was a great success. Painting remains his great passion, and his latest works, characterized by various media shapes and numbers, serve to break down the usual pictorial scheme and aim for a broader and more complex articulation of volumes. His unique compositional technique allows him to create a three-dimensional space into which the viewer has the illusion of being projected.
The inauguration of "Vigneti" is scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd, at 5:00 PM, at the Grappa & Cioccolato Store in Marcallo (Via Roma 79).
The exhibition will be open daily from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm (except Sundays) until Saturday, March 16.
