CASTAGNOLE MONFERRATO&RUCHÉ: Can the destiny of a village and its territory be indissolubly linked to a wine? The answer is affirmative and the Monferrato testimony is called Castagnole Monferrato where the native wine that has become the flywheel of the local economy and tourism is Ruchè. Surrounded by scenic vineyards, the town seems to be perfumed with the floral scents that characterise this wine, inviting you to enjoy the vine-covered landscapes and fine architecture visible in the historic centre known as ‘Miraja’.

RADICI – Grappa di Ruchè in purezza
A halo of mystery surrounds the origins of a very rare grape variety from the Monferrato Astigiano spread in only seven municipalities. It is not known if his name comes from the “rocks”, that is from steep terrain on which was very suitable, or from an old convent of San Rocco that once stood near Castagnole Monferrato. What is certain and equally curious is that it was the parish priest of Castagnole, Don Giacomo Cauda, who saved Ruché from extinction and handed down to today the hints of a Grappa unique in its kind, dry and, at the same time, surprisingly floral.
