The delicious autumn combination will take place on Sunday 19th October
Spirits will also be the focus this Sunday, October 19th, in Altavilla Monferrato, where the 2025 edition of "Chocolate in Monferrato" will take place. This day-long event will feature a market of local specialties, tastings, and food stands in the hilltop village.
For the occasion, the "Casa della Grappa," the historic home of Mazzetti d’Altavilla, will open its doors at Viale Unità d'Italia 2 with a program of events aimed at providing a first-hand look at the world of spirits and their pairings, starting with the star of the day: chocolate. The Casa della Grappa, a former monastery, will be open from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, featuring spirits by Mazzetti and a selection of fine chocolate created by the equally historic Piedmontese brand Baratti & Milano. Guided tastings featuring grappa and chocolate pairings are planned, and there will also be the opportunity to find the brand new chocolates filled with grappa, brandy, gin, whisky, and lemon and coffee liqueurs. These latter are a nod to autumn and "good" thoughts for the upcoming Christmas, along with other delicacies such as "marrongrappé" and the Advent Calendar containing 24 samples of "spirits" made in Monferrato. During the day, visitors will be able to accessthe Cafeteria for delicious breaks and the "La Rotonda's 179th season Mazzetti d’Altavilla. The ADT Club station will also be open in the Historic Park, offering pairings of spirits and Italian cigars.
