Top year of awards for the Piedmontese company's spirits

2019 is a record year of awards for Mazzetti d’Altavilla, the most historic distillery in the Northwest, which continues a distilling tradition dating back to 1846. This record is currently accompanying the Christmas toast of the sixth and seventh generations of the Mazzetti family and the entire team who, from their headquarters atop the Altavilla Monferrato hill, are celebrating their “top year”, a year characterised by a shower of awards and important milestones in the modern evolution of distillates, as well as the strengthening of the tourist role that the headquarters plays today in Monferrato.

Indeed, 17 medals have been won at the main national and international spirits competitions, in addition to the selection of four other brand Mazzetti d’Altavilla at the finals of two other awards. Crowning the successes of 2019 was the podium achieved in the fall at "The WineHunter Award 2019," which saw five Mazzetti Mazzetti d’Altavilla , including Riserva Segni also achieved the highest "Platinum" rating. This was accompanied by Gold medals for the Grappa di Ruchè Barricata 7.0, for "1789," Grappa di Barolo aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, and for the Gin, as well as the "Rosso" award for the Amaro Forte. But also the prestigious Bibenda Guide, through the eponymous “5 Grappoli 2020” award, has decreed the excellence of Mazzetti d’Altavilla by bringing three reserves to the podium: once again Segni accompanied by 18.46 and Gaia Mazzetti.

Just before Christmas, news arrived that 's Amari Forte e Gentile and Bitter were shortlisted in the "Beverages" category of the 2019 Mazzetti d’AltavillaThis testifies to the widespread popularity of these spirits, which entered the company's collection in 2019. Finally, Riserva Gaia Mazzetti was a finalist in the " Bar Awards for Innovation of the Year, presented by Bargiornale. Food and Travel Italia 2019 Reader Awards ," published by the magazine of the same name.

The year began with international recognition: the “Silver” award for the Bitter and the “Bronze” awards for the Amaro Gentile and for 1789, Grappa di Barolo with final refinement in ex-Bourbon barrels, at the 2019 edition of the prestigious British “International Wine & Spirit Competition” and the three medals again for “1789”, Grappa di Barolo with final refinement in ex-Bourbon barrels” (Best Aged, World's Best Grappa and World's Best Grappa Design) at the World Grappa Awards. In the summer, there was also a great haul at theAlambicco d'Oro 2019 with the Best Gold Medal for the Grappa 7.0 and the Gold Medal for XO Acquavite di Vino Invecchiata 20 Anni and for the Special Brandy Invecchiato 27 Anni.

"It's truly been a record year ," explain Chiara, Silvia and Elisa Belvedere Mazzetti, aka the seventh generation of Mazzetti d’Altavilla , " both in terms of a strong increase in turnover, accompanied, as demonstrated by the numerous awards, by the excellence of the product, a cornerstone, along with the "teamwork" on which our company bases its activity. 2019 also saw a strong growth in tourism: Monferrato, our homeland, welcomed thousands of visitors intrigued by the culture of spirits and also by its more original pairings, such as the pairing with food, embracing the proposals of Materia Prima, the in-house restaurant also featured in the "Monferrato" episode of "4 Ristoranti" which aired at the beginning of the year."
"We look to 2020
," the Mazzetti sisters conclude, " with a renewed focus on the excellence of spirits, with the aim of further strengthening the communication of the modern face of grappa and the bond with our territory, which, not surprisingly, has been chosen as the protagonist of the Artistic Calendar that will accompany us until next autumn."
