A shower of awards in 2022 and growth in the spirits sector.
There's no respite for the growth of the Italian spirit Mazzetti d’Altavilla , which at the end of 2022 is drawing a very rosy balance, capping a year full of innovations and successes. There are many reasons to raise a toast to the good health of grappa under the Christmas tree. First and foremost, over the past twelve months, the spirits produced atop the Altavilla Monferrato hill have received a fresh wave of international recognition , confirming the company, managed by the sixth and seventh generations of the Mazzetti family, consistently aiming to raise production standards. The latest in chronological order were the “5 Grappoli Grappa” awarded by the prestigious Bibenda Guide 's flagship reserves Mazzetti d’Altavilla: “Incanto”, a grappa obtained from Nebbiolo pomace from the Barbaresco denomination area and aged for a long time in fine wooden barrels, and “Gaia Mazzetti”, the standard-bearer of Piedmontese aromaticity thanks to the patient refinement in Moscato and Cortese barrels. But before Bibenda's selection, 2022 had already brought a record number of medals won by Mazzetti d’Altavilla in a single edition of the Alambicco d'Oro Competition: six Gold and Silver medals, in addition to the Gold Medals at the 2022 Grappa Awards for the Riserva Segni, which ages in six barrels made of different types of wood for five years, and for the now iconic "7.0." This latest barrel-aged grappa has won over and continues to win over an extremely diverse audience (including novices) thanks to its elegant and smooth characteristics, typical of the refinement of the distillate from a precious symbol of Monferrato viticulture: the Ruchè grape. The haul continues with medals at the British International Wine & Spirit Competition 2022, two Golden Ampoules from the 2023 Spirito Autoctono, and the Mediterranean Packaging Award for the revamped Brandy 12 Anni. But 2022 also marked the achievement of new milestones for the Grappa Store, the points of sale and knowledge of Mazzetti d’Altavillawas inaugurated Grappa & Cioccolato Store Alba in the central Via Maestra in the center of the Langhe, which continues the partnership with Baratti & Milano, the equally ancient Piedmontese chocolate house, in offering the enticing pairing of grappa and chocolate.
The headquarters atop Altavilla Monferrato has recently undergone further renovations, including the panoramic terrace of the historic monastery. Following careful conservation and renovation of the spaces, it has now become a venue for business and leisure events, as well as shows and exhibitions.
