Brandy Invecchiato 27 Anni Receives French Recognition
After the Gold Medal for the Grappa Riserva 7.0 Ruchè 100% Cru and the Silver Medal for the Grappa di Arneis, awards obtained at the recent edition of the Alambicco d'Oro, Mazzetti d’Altavilla has recently been awarded Silver Medal at the French Citadelles du Vin to the Brandy Invecchiato 27 Anni, produced by Casa Mazzetti from a fine wine distillate that began its patient maturation way back in 1984. This medal arrives in Piedmont after passing a rigorous selection process in which 1,074 wines and spirits from 31 countries around the world were carefully tasted.
The award comes at a time of intense promotion of Italian wine distillates by Casa Mazzetti, a producer of Italian brandy for several generations, also bringing back into vogue in recent months the name, reminiscent of D'Annunzio's "Arzente." Just last spring, at Vinitaly, the Alessandria-based bartender Luigi Barberis used various types of brandy to propose the "new frontiers of mixology," and in "Grappassion," the work recently created by Mazzetti d’Altavilla was also proposed local delicacies, such as 90% extra dark chocolate,
