For this reason, the dedicated efforts to strengthen the image of Grappa continue with the renewed presidency of Cesare Mazzetti, who heads the National Committee of Acquaviti and Liquori of AssoDistil. This is the third reappointment for the President of the Mazzetti Group, with the addition of Silvia Belvedere Mazzetti, Commercial Director and representative of the seventh generation of "Distillatori dal 1846," to the Association's Board of Directors. For over 70 years, AssoDistil has protected the leading players in the Italian distilling industry, currently boasting over 60 member companies, representing approximately 95% of the national production of acquaviti and ethyl alcohol produced from agricultural raw materials. Priorities include protecting the image of national spirits, ensuring transparency with consumers, and promoting the circular economy and sustainability. "I am honored that the distillers have reaffirmed the trust they placed in me over the previous six years as president of the Acquaviti Committee," says Cesare Mazzetti. "The Committee is the most representative in terms of numbers within Assodistil, and it primarily deals with Italian spirits with Geographical Indications, such as Grappa and Italian Brandy, but also with numerous other products from our distilling and liqueur tradition. In recent years, the members of the Acquaviti Committee have developed a strong sense of cohesion and the desire to act together to develop and promote the quality image of our spirits, and this bodes well for the sector's recovery, even after the catastrophic pandemic that has impacted consumption, especially away from home."
