An ancient elixir of thirteen herbs, berries, and roots harvested from the Piedmont hills. This is theExcellence Spirit Award 2020, presented at the Roma Bar Show, the International Bar & Beverage Trade Show. Amaro Gentile, created by the most historic distillery in the Northwest according to an ancient recipe and redesigned from the original bottle used in the second half of the last century, was selected by the international jury as an excellent product in a year full of rewards for this spirit "made in Monferrato," which already won the Gold Medal at the 2020 edition of the German competition ISW (Internationaler Spirituosen Wettbewerb). The various herbs bring with them what tradition has handed down as fragrant, flavoring, and digestive properties: some of them are steeped for twelve months in Grappa di Moscato Invecchiata while the remaining herbs are infused in alcohol, along with orange and lemon peel. Sage, marjoram, gentian root, and even thyme are recognizable. A prized digestive, Amaro Gentile also makes an aperitif , chilled with ice and perhaps paired with mint and lemon peel.
