The recognition from the Ministry of Economic Development honors the historic Piedmontese Distillery, a bearer of widespread values since 1846.
The Mazzetti d’Altavillabrand, a historic Piedmontese distillery founded in 1846, is well known on national and international markets as a symbol of quality and dedication to the local area, values that today underpin the sustainability goals pursued at the European level. Today, the brand officially becomes a "Historic Brand of National Interest.".
The Ministry of Economic Development itself confirmed the inclusion in the restricted list of trademarks active for at least fifty years. This recognition applies to trademarks used for the longest time to market products or services produced by a nationally renowned manufacturing company with historical ties to the national territory. These trademarks are eligible for registration in the register of historic trademarks of national interest, established by the Italian Patent and Trademark Office.
The Mazzetti d’Altavilla brand is among the oldest in the world of Italian distilling, appearing on a historic collection of documents held in the company archives: shipping notes, invoices, labels, advertising signs, trade show stands, and many other documents, as well as, more recently, a presence on web channels and digital documents relating to the company's activities. "Our archives are a precious heritage that preserves not only our brand but also the culture and production traditions developed internally," says Cesare Mazzetti, president of the company, "and pays homage to the past generations who have helped us become what we are." A path of continuous evolution for Mazzetti grappa and other spirits, therefore, rewarding the consistency and efforts of the sixth and seventh generations of this family of distillers since 1846, and of all the staff and aficionados of the Mazzetti world, capping a truly exciting year for the grappa company, which has always operated among the UNESCO-listed hills of Monferrato.
The "Historic Brand" recognition comes at the culmination of an intense Christmas campaign, one of the most rewarding ever for the company thanks to the extremely positive market response, following a 2020 marked by the challenges induced by the Covid emergency. "This news is a fitting toast to Mazzetti d’Altavilla's 175 years of uninterrupted business, a special anniversary we celebrated in 2021," says Silvia Belvedere Mazzetti, the company's young sales manager for a few years. "Milestones? Not exactly: every result is interpreted as a spur to pursue new goals, and we are already working to formalize new strategies that will lead our "made in Monferrato" spirits to conquer new markets in 2022."
