“PIEMONTE GRAPPA” OPENS THE 179TH MAZZETTI D’ALTAVILLA DISTILLATION SEASON

The historic Mazzetti d’Altavilla headquarters will be open for business on Sunday, October 5th, welcoming the Mazzetti family's 179th consecutive distilling season. At Viale Unità d'Italia 2, during the annual early autumn event " Piemonte Grappa – At the Court of the Still ," promoted by the Consorzio Tutela Grappa del Piemonte e Grappa di Barolo , guided tours will be available to discover the art of distillation, including the opportunity to witness the stills being worked on firsthand. For a more complete understanding of Grappa, visitors will be able to visit the pomace area , where the freshest local batches of are vacuum-packed materia prima. There will also be stops in the scenic Barricaia, where visitors can learn more about the use of fine wood species, which contribute their aromas and flavors to expert aging, and in the Galleria della Grappa , where they can be fascinated by the evolution of spirits' packaging over time. Throughout the day, from 9:30 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm, you can enjoy tastings of grappa, brandy, gin, amari, liqueurs, and bitters , and discover some of the new products that 2025 has brought to the "Casa della Grappa," such as Vermouth di Torino Mazzetti , Mazzetti Tonics , and Amaro Zero . The day will also offer the opportunity to discover the venue's corners, such as the Votive Chapel "La Rotonda ," an architectural jewel dating back to 1808, the welcoming Cafeteria , and take advantage of the ADT Club corner in the Historic Park for an Italian cigar tasting , possibly paired with grappas made by Mazzetti d’Altavilla. The Restaurant Materia Prima will serve lunch in the panoramic rooms on the first floor of the venue, by reservation, with a choice of dishes from the new autumn menu. Throughout the day, you can enjoy unique pairings featuring Gin Mazzetti , and the spirits tastings are free and will also feature expert Anag tasters who will guide the public towards a better understanding of the distillate. The October 5th event is the first in a long series of events planned for October at the Mazzetti d’Altavilla: on Sunday the 19th, the Casa Della Grappa will welcome the public to the popular " headquarters Cioccolato nel Monferrato " event, which will once again take place in the charming village of Altavilla Monferrato, while from the 23rd to the 25th, the company will participate in the " Fabbriche Aperte " circuit, promoted by the Piedmont Region. Finally, on Friday, October 31st, a special Halloween menu will await diners at Ristorante Materia Prima. Throughout the autumn, guided tours and tastings will be available to learn about the art of distilling "made in Monferrato."
