Awards for Mazzetti d’Altavilla grappas and bitters
Mazzetti d’Altavilla , the award- winning Monferrato distillery, is celebrating the arrival of August with three new awards. Adding to the medal collection of the "Distillatori dal 1846" is the " International Wine & Spirit Competition ", a prestigious British competition whose 2019 edition awarded Mazzetti d’Altavilla prize the " Silver " for its Bitter and the " Bronze " prizes for its Amaro Gentile and for its 1789 Grappa di Barolo Bourbon Finish . Success, therefore, for the new " Originali " line , relaunched this year by Mazzetti d’Altavilla and including two amari, a bitter, and a gin that reinterpret ancient bittering recipes with Piedmontese ingredients and a selection of historic bottles and labels that have been minimally revisited compared to the second half of the last century. The awards from across the Channel add to the already rich haul obtained in the first half of the year, namely the three medals at the World Grappa Awards for the 1789 Grappa di Barolo Bourbon Finish ( Best Aged, World's Best Grappa and World's Best Grappa Design) and, at the Alambicco d'Oro 2019 , the Best Gold Medal for the Grappa 7.0 and the Gold Medal for XO Acquavite di Vino Invecchiata 20 Anni and for the Special Brandy Invecchiato 27 Anni .
